Corpus Christi, TX

We flew in yesterday and are going to be staying at the Residence Inn while here. Troy stayed at the Holiday Inn on the beach last time and he swear this place is nicer location. We have tons of food/malls/stores in walking distance but the beach I would have to drive to.
On this job Troy is an Operator instead of his normal Chief position. The reason being he is learning a new technology. I will not go into the nitty gritty because I would bore you all. The short version is now he has to be the guy that works night shifts...that should be interesting since he doesn't function well past 2am. Also it makes me glad we got a one bedroom hotel room instead of the normal one room. This way London and I can actually be awake and at home without bugging him (well TO MUCH anyway).  Anyway he did his training today and was done early so we got to do a little exploring.
Random things I learned today about Corpus Christi....
1. One of the monkee's (band) is from here (Nesmith)
2. Said monkee's mom was the inventor of liquid paper
3. Farrah Fawcett and Eva Longoria are also from here.
4. Corpus Christi was declared the “Birdiest City” in the nation with more individual species counted than any other city.
5. A portion of the movie Pearl Harbor, starring Ben Affleck, Josh Hartnett and Alec Baldwin, was filmed on the USS Lexington.

There don't you feel smarter now :D

Job update take (what is the sign for infinety?)

So scratch the Tuscaloosa, AL job that we would leave for this friday. NOW we are going to Corpus Christi, TX this Thursday for a couple weeks instead. The AL job was delayed so there is a chance we still go there but it would be after this job now.
Instead of staying at our old faithful Marriott while in Des Plaines we are at the Sheraton in Arlington Heights. We need to work on our status for the Sheraton :) They are really nice rooms, only downside I have found is there is only ONE washer and dryer for guests. Oh and we have to pay a few bucks out of pocket for the room (I THINK like $7/night, not bad but still). Thanks to Mary/Jason for sharing this little gem with us :)
